About Sayed Monib
Full Name: Sayed Monib
Date of Birth: March 14, 2000
Birthplace: Karachi, Pakistan (represents Kuwait)
Role: Right-Arm Fast Bowler | Lower-Order Batter
Sayed Monib represents the youthful fire of Kuwait’s fast bowling attack. A quick, energetic pacer who thrives on bounce and rhythm, Monib is fast emerging as one of Kuwait’s most exciting bowling prospects, capable of delivering game-changing spells with sheer pace and precision.
Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Monib’s passion for cricket sparked early. Like many young boys in the cricket-mad city, he honed his skills on narrow streets and neighborhood pitches where raw talent met fierce competition. After relocating to Kuwait with his family, Monib carried that same hunger and competitiveness into Kuwait’s cricketing system.
He worked his way through the club and academy structures, developing into a promising right-arm fast bowler known for his smooth action, seam movement, and attacking mindset. Monib made his T20I debut for Kuwait on July 6, 2019, against Qatar, and wasted no time making his mark. Bowling with heart and hostility, he immediately earned a spot as one of the team’s frontline pacers.
Though young, Monib has already taken over 20 wickets in T20Is, with best figures of 4/16—a match-winning spell against Saudi Arabia where he ripped through the top order with raw pace. He specializes in opening the bowling and bowling during the death overs, two of the toughest phases of a T20 game. His ability to swing the new ball and nail yorkers under pressure has made him an indispensable part of Kuwait’s bowling plans.
But Monib is more than just raw pace. He’s a student of the game—constantly working on his variations, practicing slower balls, back-of-the-hand deliveries, and developing a sharp bouncer. He often studies great fast bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Shaheen Afridi, and Dale Steyn to learn how they adapt across formats and conditions.
While primarily a bowler, Monib is also an enthusiastic lower-order batter. He’s not afraid to swing hard and has hit a few crucial boundaries to lift the team in tight games. More than once, his quick runs at the back end have helped Kuwait reach defendable totals or finish close chases.
Monib’s attitude off the field is just as impressive. He’s grounded, respectful, and intensely focused on fitness and discipline. He follows a strict training regimen and is regularly seen mentoring even younger bowlers in domestic leagues. His commitment has made him a role model for aspiring cricketers in Kuwait’s growing cricket scene.
As Kuwait looks to rise further in ICC events and regional tournaments, Sayed Monib is one of the faces of that mission—a bowler with potential, passion, and presence. He charges in not just to bowl a delivery, but to deliver belief—to his team, to himself, and to a country dreaming big in the world of cricket.
